INSULIN and its KEY ROLE in diabetes, weight loss, hormones, menopause… and MORE!

This week’s video is all about INSULIN and the key role it plays in obesity, diabetes, hormonal issues, menopause, and a whole host of health issues.  I share a huge light bulb moment I had recently about how insulin has been wrecking my hormones and keeping fat on my body, even when I have always tried to diet, exercise, and do everything in my power to stay thin.  I now realize that even zero calorie beverages (my decades long Diet Dr. Pepper addiction, the 10 calories of vegan milk or creamer in my coffee or tea, the lemon-lime flavored seltzer water we love… anything flavored!) were spiking my insulin.

I WAS CONSTANTLY SPIKING MY INSULIN!  All. Of. My. Life.

Gin Stephens book Fast. Feast. Repeat. explained this so clearly to me.  I am committed to CLEAN FASTING now and it is helping me so much.  Clean fasting lets my body rest, insulin levels can finally drop down and I’m not constantly giving the signal to store glucose and store fat.  My body can finally BURN FAT.  Hallelujah!!!  I am already seeing positive results for weight loss, fat burning, body recomposition (clothes fitting more loosely), and normalizing my hormones which is so important during menopause.  Speaking of hormones, I also talk about the negative impact of cortisol which is spiked from stress and signals the body to store calories & fat to have energy to combat all of that stress.

I hope my light bulb moment about insulin is helpful for YOU.  What I have learned from Gin Stephens is now incorporated into all of my coaching.  I believe fasting, hormones, and WHEN we eat is actually more powerful and more important than WHAT we eat.  I personally will always eat a mostly plant based diet, but I now see how intermittent fasting can work for anyone to start getting the weight off and get your health back on track. This is such a big change that I am rebranding my entire business… you will see those changes soon!
