In last week’s video, I shared mindset tips to help you deal with binge eating and disordered eating. I am not a counselor or doctor. I am merely sharing my story, my history of disordered eating, and the struggles I still have to this day with using food to numb & soothe anxiety or uncomfortable emotions.
I have come a long way with healing these addictive and disordered behaviors with food and alcohol. I have learned how to better process emotions and in general use food for what it is intended for – nourishment. Eating healthy whole plant foods helps my body feel strong and nourished. I have healed my relationship with alcohol and, for the most part, food.
I share very recent, 2020 and all of its craziness, binge eating tendencies and what I have done to shift away from numbing with food to processing those emotions and making much healthier choices. I hope my story and my advice can be helpful for any of my viewers.
Let me know in the comments if this is a struggle for you, if any of the tips I offer may be helpful for you, and what you have found to help shift your mindset around using food for anything besides nourishment.
Also, if you have any questions for me on this topic or any other topics, please leave your question in the comments.
