HEALTHY TRAVEL TIPS | Tour of our AirBnB in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

This week’s video is about healthy, balanced travel. I am coming to you from our AirBnB kitchen in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. I share how we packed our food for a road trip, stocked up our AirBnB with leftovers from home, ingredients to cook 2 meals, and groceries from Publix after we arrived. I also plan for going out to eat or getting takeout, going out for an ice cream, enjoying some shops & restaurants, just not eating out every meal.

My top tips for healthy eating while traveling:

1. THINK AIR BNB NOT HOTEL: Try to rent a place when you travel that has some sort of small kitchen area where you can at least make easy breakfasts and heat up meals instead of eating at restaurants 3 meals per day.

2. THINK GROCERY STORES NOT RESTAURANTS: When traveling by car or whenever you arrive at a destination, stop at a grocery store to fuel yourself.  Pack the car with healthy foods, stop and grab fruit, sandwiches, salads from a grocery store instead of a drive-through.

3. PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION: Enjoy yourself! Plan for some meals out, go get an ice cream with your pup, have a drink by the beach.  It’s your vacation.  We just balance all of that culinary fun with healthier home cooked meals and some intermittent fasting thrown in.  

Then I always get back to my healthy routine as soon as I get home.  On this vacation, I gained 2 pounds.  No big deal.  A few days of clean, healthy fasting and I was back to my normal weight.  🙂
